about

In 2009,After a 2 year hiatus,3 out of the 4 original members reunited under the LORD banner w/Helena Goldberg replacing Rob Gouldman on bass and former One Slack Mind guitarist,Mike Meeks, joining on 2nd guitar.Their 1st recorded output were 3 songs that were featured on the Refuge For The Recluse split cd w/Fire Faithful.Recorded and engineered with Mike Meeks at the helm,RFTR was released in 2010 and featured a heavier and more textured version of the LORD sound w/Andy Murray and Helena Goldberg incorporating a different vocal approach than what the band had been known for.Even though the band was starting to build momentum and hype once again,it would prove to be short lived w/Mike Meeks leaving the band shortly after the release of RFTR and only having played several shows before deciding to go his own way.LORD would remain a quartet for almost a year before the band decided to part ways w/original vocalist Andy Murray and replaced him w/VOG vocalist and PALKOSKI mastermind,Steven Kerchner. The band was already in the writing process for what would become LORD's 2nd full length release,Chief.Recorded at Sniper Studios w/Vince Burke and released in 2011,Chief found the band truly pushing it's boundaries, taking chances and redefining themselves without losing their core identity. The band was revitalized by the new blood and quickly found their footing live by delivering dynamic and punishing performances, culminating in their jaw-dropping performance at 2011's Stoner Hands Of Doom festival.Although the band was on a creative high and been firing on all cylinders, tensions that began in the studio quickly manifested into a turbulent inner band dynamic which would inevitably result in the band taking another hiatus before reuniting in early 2013 but it would prove to be short lived w/the band parting ways w/Helena Goldberg at the end of 2013.They already had several songs written and studio time booked w/Vince Burke once again, the band chose to hit the studio as a trio w/Stephen Sullivan handling the bass and drum tracks on the Alive in Golgotha ep.This would prove to be his final recording w/the band as Stephen had decided to put forth all of his effort into the recently reunited Alluvion, who also happen to feature Andy Murray on drums.Another chapter for the band had closed but AIG would prove to be the stepping stone for what LORD would go on to do w/their next few releases...but that's another story.

about

LORDisbadass Virginia

LORD is a band that isn't afraid to color outside the lines and explores the possibilities within heavy music; taking the heavy music of the last 50 years and combining them with melodic and progressive sensibilities in order to create something unique in a genre where everything's been done.
