Following that I thought, I need to get it together, put myself back together
It was good for a while and then it came again and again and again and again

And then came a day out of the blue, where I was going out of town
And home felt weird to me, to be at home without the pup
I was headed away for the weekend and the thought crossed my mind
That I did not want to die
This was a profound moment because for days, weeks, months
Leading up to that moment I had been talking myself out of ending it all.
